Last year we were privileged to volunteer at Lower Green Swamp, helping to plant long leaf pines. Well–we can do it again!
“We are repeating our Long Leaf Pine Planting day on April 30th. We are hoping to plant 300 LLP in those previously burned areas. These will be small pines to be set out randomly. We also contacted the Native Plant Society to see if they would be interested in joining us this year. If you are interested in helping, please contact Andy Fairbanks (FairbanksA@hillsboroughcounty.org) so we can make sure there is enough transportation for everyone.”
Last year we horse people outnumbered other volunteers. Lower Green Swamp is such a great place to ride–let’s support Karen and the Preserve!
