“Animals in Disaster: Awareness & Preparedness”

Did you know that FEMA has a free online course that we, as horse owners, can take to be better prepared for natural disasters?  It’s called “Animals in Disaster: Awareness and Preparedness.”  We’ve posted a print version in the “Useful Documents” section of our web site, or find the online version at  https://training.fema.gov/is/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-10.a

Course Overview
This course is intended to help animal owners, care providers, and industries to understand incident management.

Course Objectives:
The objectives of this course are to increase awareness and preparedness among animal owners and care providers, and to describe how typical hazards affect animals and what can be done by responsible owners to reduce the impact of disasters.

Primary Audience
Animal owners and care providers.
