We gave 123 kids at the Polk City Summer Reading Program “pony rides” in 1 ½ hours on June 18, and 16 club members (and several other volunteers, including Astrid Evans’ daughter and Kathy Grinsted’s students) came out to help. A special thanks goes out to Laura Branch who coordinated the horse end of the event, and to Mike Charron who loaded most of those kids on and off the horses. Kathy Grinsted’s students were a true blessing! It’s a pleasure to be able to give back to our community by supporting our public institutions, and encouraging kids to read is a top priority. We appreciate all who came out to help on a broiling summer’s day.

The Florida Sport Horse Club is dedicated to trail riding and the preservation of the many riding areas in central Florida. We ride every weekend and have many barbecues and campouts throughout year. We're family oriented and open to all breeds of horses. We are based primarily in Polk County, but have members from all over the state. We have been incorporated as a non-profit organization since 1988. View all posts by floridasporthorseclub
