Non-horsey people probably think we’re a little nuts to be so happy about a mounting block. They don’t realize how much easier it is on a horse’s back and withers when a rider uses the block; we as riders, especially as we grow a bit older and less agile, certainly appreciate the mechanical boost and safety. So to see this new, heavy (2000 pounds!) 4-step concrete mounting block at the Colt Creek State Park’s equestrian campground is a beautiful thing to behold at the start of our riding season. Many, many thanks to Lannie Thomas, owner of Leesburg Concrete, and Triple B Riding Club for donating it.

The Florida Sport Horse Club is dedicated to trail riding and the preservation of the many riding areas in central Florida. We ride every weekend and have many barbecues and campouts throughout year. We're family oriented and open to all breeds of horses. We are based primarily in Polk County, but have members from all over the state. We have been incorporated as a non-profit organization since 1988. View all posts by floridasporthorseclub
