Earth Day Clean-Up at Colt Creek State Park

There was no better way to spend Earth Day than clearing the NEW equestrian day parking field plus primitive equestrian camping expansion area.  Triple B and Florida Sport Horse Club members teamed up to spend the morning picking up dead wood, chain-sawing fallen trees, and forging our way through enormous tangles of Caesar weed. We have SO many people to thank–all the club members who came out bright and early; Gene Naasko for initiating the work day; Karen Turbeville for coordinating the event; Jerry Von Ehr for mowing the entire area; Jim Watkins for bringing his tractor and front end loader to move the bigger tree sections; Mike Charron and the Turbevilles for use of their trailers; Richard Wilder for bringing 3 of his students to help; Sammie Turbeville for grilling the chicken for our lunch…the list goes on and on. More pictures will be posted on the Florida Sport Horse Club’s Facebook page soon.
